Target Information
STING (Stimulator of Interferon Genes) is a 379-amino-acid signaling protein that plays a crucial role in innate immune signaling. It activates NF-κB and IRF3 transcription pathways to induce type I interferon (IFN-α and IFN-β) expression, establishing an antiviral state. STING may also function as a translocon influencing interferon induction and mediates apoptotic signaling via MHC-II association. It is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, cell membrane, and mitochondrial outer membrane, and is ubiquitously expressed across most tissues.
