Product Specific Information
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes. After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with the primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature. A suggested positive control is pancreas tissue.
Target Information
Chromogranin A (CHGA) is a member of the chromogranin/secretogranin family of neuroendocrine secretory proteins. It is found in secretory vesicles of neurons and endocrine cells. CHGA is a precursor to three biologically active peptides: vasostatin, pancreastatin, and parastatin. These peptides act as autocrine or paracrine negative modulators of the neuroendocrine system. CHGA serves as an excellent marker for carcinoid tumors, pheochromocytomas, paragangliomas, and other neuroendocrine tumors. Coexpression of Chromogranin A and neuron-specific enolase (NSE) is common in neuroendocrine neoplasms.
