CD3d는 T세포 수용체/CD3 복합체(TCR/CD3 complex)의 구성 요소로, T세포 발달 및 신호전달에 관여합니다. CD3d 단백질은 델타 서브유닛으로, 다른 네 개의 CD3 서브유닛과 함께 TCR α/β 또는 TCR γ/δ와 결합하여 TCR/CD3 복합체를 형성합니다.
CD3d 유전자의 결함은 T세포 음성/B세포 양성/NK세포 양성 중증복합면역결핍증(SCIDBNK)의 원인이 될 수 있습니다. 두 가지 전사 변이가 알려져 있으며, 다른 변이체도 존재할 수 있으나 전체 길이는 아직 완전히 규명되지 않았습니다.
