Product Specific Information
Recombinant Human IL-19 is a 35.8 kDa homodimer consisting of two 154 amino acid chains. In solution, IL-19 exists predominantly as a non-disulfide-linked dimer.

Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine belonging to the IL-10 cytokine subfamily. It is preferentially expressed in monocytes and binds the IL-20 receptor complex, leading to activation of STAT3.
In mice, a similar cytokine up-regulates IL-6 and TNF-α expression and induces apoptosis, suggesting a role in inflammatory responses.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described.
