Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to reach a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).
Target Information
The GCH1 gene encodes a member of the GTP cyclohydrolase family. This enzyme catalyzes the conversion of GTP into 7,8-dihydroneopterin triphosphate, serving as the rate-limiting step in tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4) biosynthesis.
BH4 acts as an essential cofactor for aromatic amino acid hydroxylases and nitric oxide synthases.
Mutations in GCH1 are linked to malignant hyperphenylalaninemia and dopa-responsive dystonia.
Several alternatively spliced transcript variants exist, though not all produce functional enzymes.
