Target Information
GAPDH (Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase)는 해당과정(glycolysis)에 관여하는 촉매 효소로, 37 kDa 크기의 동일한 4개의 서브유닛으로 구성된 테트라머 형태로 존재합니다. 이 효소는 NADPH 존재하에 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate를 glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate로 가역적으로 환원시킵니다.
GAPDH는 대부분의 조직에서 높은 수준으로 발현되며, glycolysis 외에도 DNA 복제 및 수선, RNA 수출, 막 융합, 미세소관 결합 등 다양한 세포 기능에 관여합니다. 또한 apoptosis, 노화 관련 신경퇴행성 질환, 암 등과 관련된 유전자 발현 조절에도 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
GAPDH는 amyloid precursor protein 및 Huntingtin 단백질과 결합하는 것으로 보고되었으며, actin 및 tubulin과의 상호작용도 보고되었습니다. Western blot 분석 시 일반적인 단백질 로딩 컨트롤로 널리 사용됩니다.
