This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, chicken, hamster, porcine, non-human primate, rat, Xenopus, and zebrafish based on sequence homology.
Target Information
The SUMO (small ubiquitin-like modifier) protein family functions similarly to ubiquitin, binding to target proteins as part of a post-translational modification system. Unlike ubiquitin, which targets proteins for degradation, SUMO proteins are involved in processes such as nuclear transport, transcriptional regulation, apoptosis, and protein stability. Activation requires cleavage of the last two amino acids at the carboxy-terminus. Multiple pseudogenes and alternative splice variants have been reported.
