Target Information
Orphan receptor likely involved in nociceptive neuron function. May regulate nociceptor activity and pain modulation. Cortistatin-14 acts as a high-potency ligand, influencing sleep regulation, locomotor activity, and cortical function. In receptor-expressing cells, cortistatin increases intracellular Ca²⁺ but does not affect basal or forskolin-stimulated cAMP levels, suggesting G(q)-coupled signaling. Expression is limited, highest in the dorsal root ganglion.
