Target Information
Cell cycle regulated protein ubiquitination and degradation within subcellular domains is essential for normal mitosis progression.
APC7 is a conserved component of the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), a cell cycle-regulated E3 ubiquitin ligase controlling mitosis and G1 phase progression.
APC/C degrades anaphase inhibitors, mitotic cyclins, and spindle-associated proteins to ensure proper mitotic sequence.
APC7 is required for correct protein ubiquitination and for APC/C interaction with transcription coactivators.
Expression levels of APC/C components are relatively constant across tissues and cell lines, indicating their cooperative function as a complex.
