Target Information
Seven transmembrane helix receptors (7-TM receptors), also known as G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), are integral membrane proteins with seven membrane-spanning helices. They couple to heterotrimeric G proteins on the intracellular side of the membrane. Upon ligand binding, GPCRs undergo conformational changes that activate G proteins, initiating downstream signal transduction depending on the G protein type.
