Target Information
ATF-2 (also known as CRE-BP1) is a transcription factor of the ATF/CREB family that binds AP-1 and CRE DNA response elements. It interacts with viral oncoproteins and cellular tumor suppressors and is regulated by SAPK/JNK and p38 MAP kinase pathways.
Phosphorylation at Thr69 and Thr71 activates ATF-2 in response to cellular stresses such as genotoxic agents, inflammatory cytokines, and UV irradiation.
