Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody eBio5G3 recognizes CD171 (L1CAM), a neural cell adhesion molecule belonging to the Ig superfamily. It mediates homotypic and heterotypic cell-cell interactions involved in neuronal myelination, neurite outgrowth, and regeneration. CD171 is expressed on monocytes, dendritic cells, subsets of lymphocytes, neuronal tissues, and certain tumor cell lines. Its expression is associated with tumor progression. The eBio5G3 epitope is located in the amino-terminal Ig-like domain.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on Panc-1 tumor cell line at 5 µL (0.5 µg)/test. A test is defined as staining in 100 µL volume; cell number may range 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Super Bright 436 is excited at 405 nm (violet laser) and emits at 436 nm. Recommended detection filter: 450/50 bandpass or equivalent.

When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to reduce non-specific polymer interactions.

Target Information

L1CAM/CD171 is an axonal glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily, composed of immunoglobulin-like and fibronectin type III-like domains. It plays a key role in neuronal development, migration, and differentiation. Mutations in L1CAM cause X-linked neurological syndromes (CRASH: corpus callosum hypoplasia, retardation, aphasia, spastic paraplegia, hydrocephalus). Alternative splicing of a neuron-specific exon is functionally relevant.
