Target Information
Histones are nuclear proteins that play a crucial role in maintaining chromosome structure in eukaryotes. The nucleosome consists of approximately 146 bp of DNA wrapped around a histone octamer composed of H2A, H2B, H3, and H4.
H2A contributes to centromere assembly and gene regulation. The protein can be modified by acetylation and phosphorylation.
