• Reconstitution:
  Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
  The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature.
  Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
  Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C, protected from light, for up to 1 week.
  For longer storage, aliquot and keep at -20°C.
  Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
  Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

The P2X1 receptor belongs to the family of purinoceptors for ATP and functions as a ligand-gated ion channel with high calcium permeability.
ATP binding mediates synaptic transmission between neurons and from neurons to smooth muscle, contributing to sympathetic vasoconstriction in small arteries, arterioles, and vas deferens.
Mouse studies suggest this receptor is essential for normal male reproductive function.
Selective antagonists may provide an effective non-hormonal male contraceptive approach.
