Target Information
Membrane-associated guanylate kinase with inverted orientation (MAGI3) is a 130 kDa guanylate kinase belonging to a family of multi-PDZ domain-containing guanylate kinases. These proteins localize to epithelial cell tight junctions.
MAGI3 interacts with PTEN/MMAC to modulate AKT/protein kinase B (PKB) activity by positioning PTEN/MMAC phosphatase at subcellular sites involved in cell proliferation and survival.
MAGI3 and related proteins consist of an N-terminal guanylate kinase domain, a WW domain (containing two conserved tryptophan residues), and five PDZ domains.
