Target Information
TRF2 is a ubiquitously expressed protein implicated in the control of telomere length. It contains a Myb-related DNA binding motif and binds to duplex TTAGGG repeats, localizing to all human telomeres in metaphase chromosomes. TRF2 helps maintain chromosome end structure and prevents senescence in primary human cells. Inhibition of TRF2 has been shown to induce apoptosis in certain mammalian cell types.
