Product Specific Information

This antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by epitope-specific immunogen affinity chromatography. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.


Target Information

Anthrax toxin receptor 2 (ATR2), also known as capillary morphogenesis gene 2 (CMG2), is a cellular receptor for anthrax toxin. ATR2/CMG2 is a type I membrane protein containing an extracellular von Willebrand factor A (VWA) domain with a metal ion-dependent adhesion site (MIDAS) motif. It binds to the protective antigen (PA) component of anthrax toxin, facilitating the entry of edema factor (EF) and lethal factor (LF) into the cytosol.
Mutations in ATR2/CMG2 can disrupt VWA domain binding and are associated with infantile systemic hyalinosis (ISH) and juvenile hyaline fibromatosis (JHF), rare disorders characterized by hyaline deposition in skin and gingiva.
