Target Information
CCKBR is a G-protein coupled receptor for gastrin and cholecystokinin (CCK), regulatory peptides of the brain and gastrointestinal tract.
It is a type B gastrin receptor with high affinity for both sulfated and nonsulfated CCK analogs, predominantly expressed in the central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract.
A misspliced transcript variant including an intron has been observed in colorectal and pancreatic tumor cells.
Reported expression sites include brain, colon, pancreas, stomach, thyroid, and various cancers.
