Target Information
NOTCH3는 Drosophila melanogaster의 type I membrane protein Notch의 세 번째 인간 상동체입니다.
Notch는 세포막 결합 리간드(delta, serrate)와 상호작용하여 신경 발달에 중요한 세포 간 신호 전달 경로를 형성합니다.
인간에서도 Notch 리간드의 상동체(Jagged1, Jagged2, Delta1)가 확인되었으며, NOTCH3는 이들과 결합하여 세포 운명 결정을 조절하는 수용체로 작용합니다.
NOTCH3 유전자의 변이는 CADASIL(cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy)의 원인으로 알려져 있습니다.
