Target Information
CD97 is a G-protein-coupled seven-span transmembrane adhesive receptor expressed on granulocytes and monocytes, and upregulated on T and B cells upon activation. It exists in alternatively spliced forms and interacts with CD55 (DAF), which protects cells from complement-mediated damage.
The CD97–CD55 interaction facilitates leukocyte activation and migration, and CD97 may play a role in tumor migration and invasiveness. It is also involved in T cell regulation and granulocyte homeostasis.
