ATP5G2, also known as ATPase protein 9 and ATPase subunit c, belongs to the ATPase C chain family.
Mitochondrial membrane ATP synthase (F1F0 ATP synthase or Complex V) produces ATP from ADP using a proton gradient across the membrane generated by the respiratory chain.
ATP5G2 is a major protein found in the storage bodies of individuals affected by ceroid lipofuscinosis (Batten disease).
