Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 96% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the S100 family of calcium-binding proteins with two EF-hand motifs. S100 proteins are found in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of various cell types and regulate cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. The S100 gene family contains at least 13 members clustered on chromosome 1q21. This protein differs from other S100 proteins by lacking calcium-binding ability in one EF-hand at the N-terminus. It is highly overexpressed in psoriatic skin lesions but is not considered a candidate gene for familial psoriasis susceptibility. The precise function of this protein remains unclear.
