Target Information
Gephyrin은 억제성 신경전달 수용체를 시냅스 후 세포골격에 고정시키는 신경세포 조립 단백질로, 수용체 서브유닛 도메인 및 튜불린 이합체와의 높은 친화 결합을 통해 작용합니다. 비신경 조직에서는 molybdenum cofactor 생합성에도 필요합니다. 이 유전자의 돌연변이는 신경학적 질환인 hyperplexia와 molybdenum cofactor 결핍과 관련될 수 있습니다. 다양한 스플라이싱 변이체가 보고되었으나, 모든 전장 변이체의 구조는 아직 완전히 규명되지 않았습니다.
