Target Information
The protein encoded by the DBN1 gene is a cytoplasmic actin-binding protein involved in neuronal growth processes. It belongs to the drebrin family, which is developmentally regulated in the brain. A reduction in this protein has been associated with memory disturbance in Alzheimer’s disease. Two alternative splice variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
