This antibody detects endogenous levels of NCoA2 only when phosphorylated at Ser698/699.

Target Information

SRC2 (steroid receptor coactivator 2), also known as nuclear receptor coactivator 2 (NCOA2) or TIF2, aids in the function of nuclear hormone receptors.
Nuclear hormone receptors are conditional transcription factors that regulate cell growth, development, and homeostasis by controlling gene expression.
Members of the nuclear hormone receptor superfamily include steroid receptors and class II nuclear receptors, characterized by three domains:

  • N-terminal transcriptional activation domain
  • Central DNA-binding domain
  • C-terminal hormone-binding domain

Before hormone binding, steroid receptors remain inactive in a complex with heat-shock protein-90 and other stress proteins.
Hormone binding induces conformational changes, leading to dissociation from the inhibitory complex, homodimer formation, and DNA enhancer binding to modulate transcription.
Transcription factors require coactivator proteins such as SRC2 to mediate transcription initiation.
