Invitrogen™ Power Blotter Pre-cut Membranes and Filters, PVDF, Regular Size

These Invitrogen Power Blotter Pre-cut Membranes and Filters are designed for efficient protein transfer from two mini-size or one midi-size gel using the Power Blotter System. Each set includes 20 sheets of polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) membrane and 80 sheets of absorbent blotting paper (0.85 mm thickness).

When combined with Power Blotter 1-Step Transfer Buffer, these membranes enable high-efficiency semi-dry protein transfer in less than 10 minutes.

Features of PVDF Membranes

• High-quality: PVDF membranes manufactured specifically for protein transfer and western blot applications
• High-binding affinity: Excellent protein binding (240 μg/cm²), easy blocking, compatible with most organic solvents, acids, and mild bases
• Convenient: Pre-cut sheets ready for transfer from two mini gels or one midi-size gel (8 cm × 13 cm); minimizes damage and contamination
• Validated: Membrane and filter combination provides optimal thickness and buffer capacity for Power Blotter System performance

The PVDF membrane (0.45 μm pore size, low fluorescence) offers higher binding capacity than nitrocellulose and is compatible with staining, immunodetection, and fluorescence methods. Proteins bind via hydrophobic interactions. This membrane provides lower background and increased sensitivity for fluorescent probing compared to regular PVDF or nitrocellulose membranes.
