Target Information
MYADM, belonging to the MAL family, is a 322-amino acid protein with seven hydrophobic transmembrane domains. It contains potential phosphorylation sites and shares sequence homology with T-cell differentiation protein MAL and plasmolipin.
It shows 75.8% sequence identity with the mouse protein in transmembrane regions and is associated with differentiation of hematopoietic or acute promyelocytic leukemia cells.
MYADM expression is up-regulated in NB4 cells induced by all-trans retinoic acid, while downregulation inhibits bone marrow colony formation.
This protein may serve as a marker for hematopoietic differentiation and a potential diagnostic or therapeutic target. It is widely expressed in brain and pancreatic islet cells.
