Target Information
The IL-28R protein belongs to the class II cytokine receptor family. It forms a receptor complex with interleukin 10 receptor beta (IL10RB) and interacts with cytokines IL28A, IL28B, and IL29. Expression of these cytokines is induced by viral infection. Overexpression of IL-28R enhances cellular responses to IL28A and IL29 but decreases response to IL28B. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
