This antibody detects recombinant human SCF in Western blots.
In sandwich ELISAs, no significant cross-reactivity or interference was observed with 36 other cytokines.

Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS before use.

Target Information

Stem Cell Factor (SCF) is the ligand of the c-Kit oncogene and is expressed by various structural and inflammatory cells in the airways.
Binding of SCF to the c-Kit receptor induces receptor homodimerization and activates signaling pathways such as PI-3, PLC-γ, Jak/STAT, and MAP kinase.
SCF expression promotes mast cell survival and the release of histamine, pro-inflammatory cytokines, and chemokines.
Inhibition of the SCF/c-Kit pathway reduces histamine levels, mast cell and eosinophil infiltration, IL-4 production, and airway hyperresponsiveness, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic target in inflammatory diseases such as asthma.
At least two isoforms of SCF are known to exist.
