Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody 20Raj1 recognizes the human and canine Ki-67 protein, which exists in two isoforms (345 and 395 kDa) expressed in dividing cells. Ki-67 is present during active phases of the cell cycle (G1, S, G2, M) but absent in resting cells (G0).
During interphase, Ki-67 localizes to the nucleus and redistributes to chromosomes during mitosis, associating with heterochromatin-bound proteins such as CBX3.
In tumor studies, Ki-67 serves as a marker for the fraction of proliferating cells.

Usage: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (100 µL final volume).
Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test (empirically determined).

Light Sensitivity: Protect from light to prevent photo-induced oxidation.
Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.
Excitation: 488–561 nm
Emission: 775 nm
Laser Compatibility: Blue, Green, Yellow-Green
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

Ki-67 is a nuclear protein expressed during late G1, S, G2, and M phases of the cell cycle. It associates with euchromatin and heterochromatin regions and shows a cell cycle-dependent distribution pattern.
Ki-67 is widely used as a cell proliferation marker, as it is absent in G0 cells and increases progressively through mitosis.
In neoplastic tissues, Ki-67 index correlates strongly with tumor grade and is comparable in prognostic value to the thymidine-labeling index. It is also used as a neuronal proliferation marker.
