Product Specific Information

The HIB19 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD19, a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on B cells during all developmental stages except plasma cells. Follicular dendritic cells also express CD19. CD19 forms a multimolecular complex with CD21, CD81, Leu13, and MHC class II that associates with the BCR. Signaling through CD19 induces tyrosine phosphorylation, calcium flux, and B cell proliferation. The SJ25C1 antibody and HIB19 recognize overlapping epitopes.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometry on normal human peripheral blood cells. Use 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (final volume 100 µL). Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Fluorophore Information:
Alexa Fluor 660 emits at 690 nm and is suitable for spectral cytometers.

Target Information

CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on all peripheral B cells and certain myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 functions as a signal-amplifying co-receptor with the BCR, regulating B cell activation and proliferation. Mutations in CD19 can cause hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression leads to B cell hyperactivity.
