EGFR 유전자 변이는 폐암 등 다양한 암과 관련이 있으며, 과발현은 여러 종양에서 불량한 예후와 연관됩니다.
EGFR 과발현은 두경부, 뇌, 방광, 위, 유방, 폐, 자궁내막, 자궁경부, 외음부, 난소, 식도 및 편평세포암 등에서 관찰됩니다.
