This antibody is expected to recognize isoform 1 (NP_000607.1) and isoform 2 (NP_001181943.1).
Tested in Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:128,000.
Target Information
The CD4 antigen is involved in the recognition of MHC class II molecules and serves as a co-receptor for HIV. CD4 is primarily expressed in T helper cells but can also be found in monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
At the tissue level, CD4 expression may be detected in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and specific regions of brain and gut.
CD4 functions to initiate or augment early T-cell activation through its association with the T-cell receptor complex and protein tyrosine kinase Lck. It may also play a role in neuronal damage in infectious and immune-mediated diseases of the CNS.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified in this gene (RefSeq, July 2017).
