1 µg/mL of MA5-45606 was sufficient for detection of Notch1 in 20 µg of rat brain membrane lysate and assayed by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
Detects >270 kDa. Does not cross-react with Notch2 or Notch3.
This antibody was formerly sold as clone S253-32.
Target Information
The Notch gene family encodes transmembrane proteins containing multiple cysteine-rich EGF-like repeats in the extracellular region.
In mammals, four Notch genes (Notch1, Notch2, Notch3, Notch4/Int-3) are known and are involved in the differentiation of the nervous system and other structures.
EGF-like proteins Delta and Serrate act as ligands for Notch1.
Mature Notch proteins are heterodimers formed by cleavage into an extracellular subunit (NEC) and a transmembrane subunit (Ntm).
