Product Specific Information
1 µg/mL of MA5-45604 was sufficient for detection of Notch1 in 20 µg of rat brain membrane lysate by colorimetric immunoblot using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as secondary antibody.
Detects >270 kDa. Does not cross-react with Notch2 or Notch3.
This antibody was formerly sold as clone S253-32.
Target Information
The Notch gene family encodes transmembrane proteins with multiple EGF-like repeats in the extracellular region. Four Notch genes (Notch1–4) have been identified in mammals and are involved in the differentiation of the nervous system and other tissues.
EGF-like proteins Delta and Serrate act as ligands for Notch1. Mature Notch proteins form heterodimeric receptors composed of extracellular (NEC) and transmembrane (Ntm) subunits.
