Target Information
Placental Alkaline Phosphatase (PLAP)는 특정 염증성 질환 과정의 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 이 효소에는 장, 태반, 태반 유사, 간/골/신장형 등 네 가지 상이하지만 관련된 형태가 존재합니다. PLAP는 임신 3기 동안 태반에서 발생하는 막 결합형 isoenzyme (Regan 및 Nagao type)과 반응합니다.
PLAP는 고환 생식세포 종양의 식별에 유용하며, PLAP 양성 체세포 종양은 일반적으로 epithelial membrane antigen (EMA)을 발현합니다.
또한 PLAP는 matrix mineralization에 관여하는 것으로 제안되었으나, 기능적 형태가 결여된 생쥐에서도 정상적인 골격 발달을 보입니다.
PLAP는 hypercalcemia 및 골격 결함을 특징으로 하는 hypophosphatasia와 직접적으로 연관되어 있으며, 이 질환의 발현 시기와 증상의 심각도는 돌연변이의 종류에 따라 달라집니다.
