Product Specific Information

The EBVCS2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD23, a 45 kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein. CD23 is expressed on mature B cells, mantle zone B cells, follicular dendritic cells, and at low levels on T, NK, Langerhans cells, and platelets. Expression is upregulated upon B cell activation, and soluble forms are biologically active. CD23 functions as a low-affinity IgE receptor involved in IgE regulation and B cell activation. CD21 and the α subunits of CD11b/CD11c bind to CD23.

  • Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
  • Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells.
    Recommended use: 5 µL (0.6 µg) per test in 100 µL final volume.
    Suitable for 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Each product includes:

Important Notes:

  • NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
  • Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains instead.
  • CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) is required for optimal staining and should be added to antibody cocktails prior to combining with cells.
    • Add 5 µL per sample regardless of panel size.
    • For single-color controls, use 5 µL per 100 µL of cell sample (10³–10⁸ cells).

NovaFluor conjugates use Phiton™ technology, featuring engineered fluorescent signatures optimized for minimal spillover and spread.

Target Information

CD23 is a 45 kDa glycoprotein expressed on subsets of peripheral blood and tonsil B cells and strongly on EBV-transformed B lymphoblasts. It serves as the low-affinity IgE receptor on B cells and is involved in B cell growth, differentiation, and IgE production. Soluble CD23 acts as a mitogenic factor. CD23 expression is associated with conditions such as chronic conjunctivitis and chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
