Product Specific Information
PA1-545 detects ethanolaminephosphate cytidyltransferase (ECT) protein in human, rat, mouse, and non-human primate samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot procedures, detecting an ~50 kDa ECT protein from C3H/10T1/2 cell lysates.
The immunizing peptide corresponds to amino acid residues 157–172 from human ECT protein (PEP-241) and can be used for neutralization and control experiments.
Target Information
ECT (ethanolaminephosphate cytidyltransferase) is a key regulatory enzyme in the phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) biosynthesis pathway.
PE plays roles in cell signaling, membrane fusion, platelet activation, and cell cycle progression.
The ECT enzyme catalyzes the second step in producing CDP-ethanolamine from phosphoethanolamine (P-Etn).
Research on ECT may help elucidate the role of plasmologens in lipid disorders, peroxisomal diseases, and neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease.
