Target Information
EPHA2 belongs to the ephrin receptor subfamily of the protein tyrosine kinase family. EPH and EPH-related receptors are implicated in developmental processes, particularly in the nervous system. EPHA2 is overexpressed in many types of human cancers. The tyrosine kinase (TK) group regulates cell-cell interactions such as differentiation, adhesion, motility, and death. There are approximately 90 TK genes sequenced, including 58 receptor protein TKs (e.g., EGFR, EPH, FGFR, PDGFR, TRK, VEGFR) and 32 cytosolic TKs (e.g., ABL, FAK, JAK, SRC).
