MA5-17742 targets C5a receptor/CD88 in FACS applications and shows reactivity with human samples.
The immunogen is RBL-2H3 cells transfected to express human C5aR on the surface.
Target Information
CD88 (C5aR1) is a C5a Anaphylatoxin Receptor mediating effects of potent chemotactic agents. It is implicated in asthma and expressed in various tissues including myeloid blood cells, brain, liver, lung, spleen, heart, kidney, and intestinal tract.
CD88 stimulates chemotaxis, granule enzyme release, and superoxide anion production. It is part of the classical complement cascade and may contribute to tissue injury associated with ischemia or sepsis.
Diseases associated with CD88 include Mannose-Binding Lectin Deficiency and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.
