This antibody detects endogenous levels of total WT1.
Target Information
The Wilms Tumor 1 (WT1) gene encodes one of the WPP domain-interacting proteins required for RanGAP nuclear envelope association in root tip cells. Ran GTPase is essential for nucleocytoplasmic transport, spindle formation, and nuclear envelope reassembly. RanGAP establishes a functional RanGTP/RanGDP gradient across the nuclear envelope and associates with its outer surface in metazoan and higher plant cells.
In Arabidopsis thaliana, RanGAP association with the nuclear envelope requires plant-specific nucleoporins combining coiled-coil and transmembrane domains (CC-TMD) and WPP domain-interacting proteins (WIPs). WT1 and WIT2 have been identified as CC-TMD proteins, distinct from the WIP family, and are required for RanGAP nuclear envelope association in root tip cells.
