This antibody has specificity for Human PS6K/RPS6KB1.

Target Information

RPS6KB1 (p70S6K) is a serine/threonine kinase with two non-identical kinase catalytic domains that phosphorylates several residues of the S6 ribosomal protein.
p70 S6 kinase is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm and is essential in growth factor–regulated cell proliferation, pathways involving cell motility (such as metastasis), the immune response, and tissue repair.
It acts downstream of phosphoinositide (PI) 3-kinase, and its main physiological target is the S6 ribosomal protein, which is involved in the upregulation of protein synthesis.
The kinase activity of p70 S6 kinase leads to increased protein synthesis and cell proliferation. Amplification and overexpression of p70 S6 kinase are observed in some breast cancer cell lines.
