Product Specific Information
Description:
The G7 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD90 (Thy-1), a GPI-linked membrane molecule expressed by early hematopoietic cells, thymocytes, mature T cells, and neurons. CD90 is involved in regulation of adhesion and signal transduction by T cells. The G7 clone can induce TCR-mediated proliferation of T cells and apoptosis of thymocytes.
Applications Reported:
- Flow cytometric analysis
- Functional studies
Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Recommended usage ≤ 0.125 µg/test (final volume 100 µL). Optimal titration is advised depending on assay conditions and cell number (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Storage and Handling:
Use in a sterile environment.
Filtration:
0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Purity:
90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin Level:
<0.001 ng/µg antibody (LAL assay).
Aggregation:
<10% as determined by HPLC.
Target Information
CD90 (Thy-1) antigen is a GPI-linked glycoprotein member of the Immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed in murine T cells, thymocytes, neural cells, Kupffer’s cells, and fibroblasts. CD90 plays a role in cell-cell or cell-ligand interactions during synaptogenesis and other brain events. It serves as a marker for various stem cells and mature neuronal axons. Structural studies of CD90 contributed to the identification of the Immunoglobulin superfamily and the first biochemical characterization of a vertebrate GPI anchor.
Diseases associated with CD90 dysfunction include nasopharyngeal carcinoma and thymoma.
