Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. Specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select optimal clones for production.

Target Information
ADAM17 (disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain-containing protein 17) cleaves the membrane-bound precursor of TNF-alpha into its mature soluble form. It mediates proteolytic release of several cell-surface proteins, including:
- JAM3 from endothelial cells
- p75 TNF-receptor
- Interleukin receptor type II
- p55 TNF-receptor
- Transforming growth factor-alpha
- L-selectin
- Growth hormone receptor
- MUC1
- Amyloid precursor protein
ADAM17 also acts as an activator of the Notch pathway by mediating cleavage of Notch to generate the membrane-associated intermediate fragment, Notch extracellular truncation (NEXT).
Mutations in this gene can lead to inflammatory skin and bowel disease, neonatal type 1.
