Target Information
XRCC4 (X-ray repair cross-complementing 4) is a key accessory factor of DNA ligase IV involved in DNA double-strand break repair and V(D)J recombination.
It preferentially binds DNA with nicks or broken ends and enhances DNA ligase IV joining activity.
Defects in XRCC4 or related components (Ku-70, Ku-80, DNA-PKCS, DNA ligase IV) can lead to failure in V(D)J rearrangement and early blockage in T and B cell maturation.
