Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Synaptophysin is a calcium-binding integral membrane glycoprotein located in presynaptic vesicles of nearly all neurons. It contains four transmembrane domains and forms a complex with dynamin under high calcium conditions, suggesting a role in synaptic vesicle endocytosis.
It contributes to the regulation of short-term and long-term synaptic plasticity and serves as a widely used marker for nerve terminals and neuroendocrine tumor differentiation.
Mutations in the synaptophysin gene are associated with X-linked mental retardation.
