HAO1 단백질은 2-hydroxyacid oxidase 활성을 가지며, 2-carbon 기질인 glycolate에 가장 활성이 높습니다. 또한 2-hydroxy fatty acids에도 작용하며, 2-hydroxy palmitate 및 2-hydroxy octanoate에 높은 활성도를 보입니다.
