Target Information
TMP21은 소포 수송 및 단백질 이동에 관여하는 단백질로, presenilin 복합체의 구성 요소로 알려져 있습니다. 이 복합체는 APH1, nicastrin, PEN2, presenilin-1로 구성되어 있으며, amyloid precursor protein(APP)의 γ- 및 ε-절단에 관여합니다. TMP21은 γ-secretase 활성을 조절하여 Abeta 생성에 영향을 미치며, 이는 알츠하이머병과 관련이 있습니다. siRNA로 TMP21 발현을 억제하면 γ-secretase 활성이 증가하고 Abeta 생성이 증가하는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
