Target Information

Retinoic Acid (RA), the active metabolite of vitamin A, regulates the transition of proliferating precursor cells to postmitotic differentiated cells. The Retinoid X Receptor (RXR) family—including RXR alpha, beta, and gamma—preferentially binds 9-cis-RA and regulates gene transcription through heterodimer formation with RA receptors. RA signaling is implicated in neuronal development, synaptic plasticity, and may have therapeutic relevance in cervical cancer.
