Target Information
CD205 (also known as LY75 or Lymphocyte Antigen 75) is an integral membrane glycoprotein involved in antigen uptake, trafficking, and presentation to enhance antigen-specific T cell immunity. It is highly expressed by CD8⁺ dendritic cells and variably expressed by bone marrow Gr1⁺ cells, Langerhans cells, bone marrow-derived dendritic cells (BMDCs), and thymic epithelial cells. CD205 functions as an endocytic receptor that directs captured antigens to specialized antigen processing regions and can reduce B lymphocyte proliferation. Dysregulation of CD205 has been associated with pneumonic plague and lipid pneumonia.
